We can provide some basic support on these topics, but there are professionals who specialise in these areas, have disability experience and are familiar with what Spokz People do.
Diet and Nutrition
Rebecca Dent is a qualified dietitian and has 16 years’ experience working in the NHS, private practice and sport. Her experience includes weight management, heathy eating, Diabetes, autoimmune diseases, IBS, preventing malnutrition and maximising health and wellbeing through nutrition. Rebecca offers a free 15 minute consultation to see if her services are right for you.
Health and Wellness through herbs
Christine Cannon is a qualified herbalist and has 25 years’ experience. Christine uses the medicinal power of plants to improve health and wellbeing. Her current passion is in the healing properties of CBD (cannabidiol) oil and how this can help alleviate many issues related to disability: pain, fatigue, spasms, stress, anxiety, low mood, hormonal imbalances and insomnia. Christine offers 1-2-1 consultations on how much of what herbs to use to maximise change in your health. She practices in the USA, but works on Skype and via email with UK clients. Unlike the UK, in the USA herbalists all have to be state-licensed and registered and complete a standardized high level training. Get in touch with Christine here
Exercise
Dom Thorpe is a Disability Personal Trainer and through his mum’s MS and he realized how important exercise was for well being. Dom has been working with disabled people since 2008. He has a range of services from FREE online exercise videos, to in person support (South London), but is also about to launch online live classes from as little as £10 a month to an online downloadable fitness programme and more. Kris Saunders-Stowe is a Disability Fitness Instructor who uses a wheelchair due to a degenerative condition. He is passionate about keeping disabled people fit and finding creative ways to make the most of your body. Kris knows personally how important exercise is – as well as impacting positively on his physical health, exercise also helps him cope with depression and improves his emotional wellbeing. Kris offers classes in Herefordshire but also sells exercise DVDs (£15) on his website. He also has a FREE Facebook Live class recording on his facebook page.
